Nairobi Excursions

NAIROBI CITY TOUR-KAS 01  (3 hours)

The tour covers the modern city center, the colorful market, Parliament, the Railway Museum and the renowned National Museum where there are spellbinding displays of early man, tribal regalia and the flora and fauna of Kenya.  A visit to the adjacent snake park is also included.  The tour returns to the city center by lunchtime.

NAIROBI NATIONAL PARK- KAS 02  (4 hours)

This unique wildlife sanctuary is just a few kilometers from Nairobi’s bustling city center but despite its proximity over 50 species of mammals can be found there, including four of the Big Five.  The tour also includes a visit to the animal orphanage at the park gate.  The tour returns to the city center by sundown.

LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK- KAS 04   (1 day)

Lake Nakuru lies in the volcano –strewn Rift Valley, one of a chain of 8 lakes, which stretch the length of Kenya from Tanzania to Ethiopia.  The 160 km’s drive from Nairobi passes through highland farms of the Kikuyu people before descending an escarpment into the dramatic landscape of the Rift.  Lunch is taken in the Park and is followed by and extensive tour which focuses on the bewildering spectacle of a million flamingo but which also seeks out the large variety of wildlife with which the Park abounds.  On the return journey to Nairobi a stop is made at Lake Naivasha where tea is taken among the fever trees and where bird watchers will delight in the fantastic array of bird life.

BOMAS OF KENYA TRAIL -KAS  06        (3 hours)

Just a few kilometers from the city, numerous “bomas” or homesteads reflecting Kenya’s cocktail of cultures have been faithfully re-created for visitors to see traditional village life.  The greatest excitement during the afternoon visit is the display of the traditional dancing, music and songs performed in a splendid arena.

NAIROBI NATIONAL PARK/LUNCH CARNIVORE/BOMAS OF KENYA -KAS  07        (1 Day)

 The National Park, only 8 kms from the city center, is Nairobi’s pride, for no other bustling capital can boast a paradise of wildlife almost on its doorstep.   The morning is spent tracking some of the many species found in the Park, which include rhino, lion, buffalo, leopard and cheetah.  After lunch at Carnivore Restaurant continue to Bomas of Kenya for a fiesta of traditional music and dance.  The tour ends in Nairobi in the early evening.

 NATIONAL PARK/-CARNIVORE TRAIL/MAASAI TRAIL - KAS 07A     (1 DAY)

Tour Nairobi National Park in the morning.  After lunch at the Carnivore restaurant proceed on the Maasai Trail for the rest of the afternoon.

KAREN BLIXEN MUSEUM/GIRAFFE MANOR/OSTRICH PARK- KAS  08        ( 3 Hours)

This half-day afternoon tour visits the Karen Blixen Museum at the foot of the Ngong Hills, the farm and home of Isak Dinesen of “Out of Africa” fame.  This is a pilgrimage to the memory of a woman admired universally, both for her spirit and her writings.  This is followed by a visit to Giraffe Manor, the wildlife conservation center and home of Daisy, the world famous Rothschild giraffe who starred in the film “The Last Giraffe”.  Finally your tour will take you to the Ostrich Park and Arts and Craft Village, where you will see the world’s largest bird being farmed and discover that the myth of the scared ostrich is just that – a myth! Return to your hotel as the sun goes down.

THE KAREN TRAIL -KAS  08A       (6 Hours)

This one day tour includes visits to the Giraffe Manor, Ostrich Park and Karen Blixen Museum with lunch at the Karen Blixen Coffee Garden.

CULTURAL TRAIL  -KAS  09            (1 DAY)

This tour visits theAfrican Heritage Gallery.  Utamaduni Arts and Crafts, Kazuri Beads Cottage industry with lunch at Karen Blixen  Coffee Garden.  After lunch clients take the Maasai Trail – a truly Kenyan experience.

ART TRAIL-KAS  09A                   (1 DAY)

A mid morning departure to see the National Museum, lunch at African Heritage and an afternoon spent at Utamaduni.

NAIROBI NIGHT TRAIL  -KAS  10          (5 Hours)

An evening tour of Nairobi City with dinner at The Nyama Choma Ranch at the Safari Park Hotel and a choice of the disco, piano bar or the Casino to end off the evening.
